Society Ethics Tech / ACM NYCWiC 2026
The ACM New York Celebration of Women in Computing (NYCWiC) is a regional conference dedicated to empowering women and their allies in computing through networking, learning, and celebrating contributions to the field. The JOPRO community has been a participant and supporter of NYCWiC since 2019.
Volunteers help make the conference run smoothly: assisting with registration and check-in, supporting session logistics, helping speakers and panelists, guiding attendees, and contributing to a welcoming environment. This is a great opportunity to connect with women leaders in technology from academia, industry, and nonprofits across New York State.
NYCWiC 2026 takes place April 10–11 at the Hilton Albany. Volunteers are typically needed for setup on the morning of April 10 through wrap-up on April 11.
Anyone interested in supporting women in computing and gaining experience in conference organizing. No technical background required. Students, early-career professionals, and community members are all welcome.
